The Innova Industrial Design team was pleased to attend Interihotel 2024, a key event to explore the latest trends in design for hotels and hospitality spaces. Under the motto “Supernova: Catalyzing hospitality design”, this edition stood out for its focus on three main themes: Bloom Design, focused on aesthetics and functionality; Visionary Design, oriented towards the solutions of the future; and, especially, Impact Design, It addresses sustainability and social awareness in design.
This event not only brings together prestigious brands such as Porcelanosa and emerging companies, but also stands out as a meeting point for professionals who seek to reimagine the design of spaces where the user experience is the priority. The quality of the exhibitions, workshops and presentations by national and international experts show that the hospitality sector is evolving rapidly, consolidating itself as a key driver of innovation.
Reflection on Impact Design
Among the themes addressed, Impact Design deserves special mention. This concept explores how design projects can and should generate a positive impact in environmental and social terms. From the use of sustainable materials to inclusive design, the goal is to build spaces that respect the environment, reduce the ecological footprint and at the same time offer meaningful experiences to the people who inhabit them.
At Innova Industrial Design, we firmly believe that design has the power to transform not only spaces but also mindsets. By applying the principles of Impact Design, it is possible not only to improve the functionality and aesthetics of a space, but also to actively contribute to a more balanced and environmentally friendly world. The key is to design with purpose, taking into account both the user’s needs and those of the planet.
Interihotel 2024 reminded us of the importance of prioritizing these values in each project. Integrating sustainable practices into design is no longer optional, but essential to address current challenges and ensure that the hospitality sector remains relevant and accountable.
